General

The instrument from the series MASTER with the article number: 479DB made by Paetzold by Kunath is a musical tool that always brings new joy to playing.
This feature is due to the masterful combination of thoughtful design in fine tuning with the merits of the birch plywood material used.

The material of this instrument is remarkably pleasant to use due to its unique qualities. The special characteristics can best be described with the following words, whereby it is in the nature of things that sounds can only be described very inadequately with words. Therefore the sound of recorders typical of the material is perceived and described somewhat differently by each person in details: Soft, warm.

The scale

The inner bore of the recorder is cylindrical and wider. This type of bore gives the recorder its typical sound.
In principle, instruments with a further bore sound warmer, fuller, more fundamental and thus more ensembleable than models with a narrower inner bore.

For which music styles can the instrument be used?

Birch plywood is ideal for instruments used in folk music and as an introduction to recorder playing.

Who is this recorder for?

It follows from this that recorders made of birch plywood are particularly suitable for ambitious amateurs and advanced players. An additional rule of thumb is that a better instrument naturally makes learning easier than a seemingly inexpensive bargain.

The Wind Tunnel of a Recorder

The wind tunnel is the area in the head of the instrument where the blowing air is formed into an air blade. This air leaf is one of the most important elements of the sound production of a flute. At the labium, the oscillation generating the flute tone is generated from the air leaf. The shape of the wind tunnel is thus extremely important for the musical design ability of the instrument.

The recorder 479DB by Paetzold by Kunath has a wind tunnel that is straight and conical.
Conically shaped wind tunnels accelerate the air blade more than cylindrical ones.
Wind tunnels are very complex in their geometric form and many parameters influence each other.

Wise of grip

The flute Paetzold by Kunath MASTER 479DB is offered in the following version: Baroque fingering.

Flaps

It is not always possible to place the tone holes in places in the instrument that can be comfortably reached with the hands. Especially with bass recorders, for acoustic reasons, some tone holes are located in places that are not ergonomically accessible. With such instruments, the instrument makers are fitted with key mechanisms that {simplify {easily} the grip, or make it possible in the first place.
The instrument 479DB has the following keys: Paetzold full folding. This makes it pleasant to play, even for players with smaller hands. This form of flap mechanism is unique and legally protected. Especially in Taiwan and Korea, these instruments are often used in schools by internationally renowned teachers for adolescent players.
But even older players with small hands don't want to miss the advantages of Paetzold full folding once they have used it.

Construction

The number of components of a recorder determines in many ways the way in which it can be easily assembled and transported during its daily use.
This is a point not to be underestimated, especially when transporting larger (and sometimes several) instruments.
Experienced ensemble players can sing you a song about it.

Packaging and accessories

The model comes standard with an optional bag / case and useful accessories: Fat jar, fingering chart, care instructions

Hygiene tips

If the flute is used together, we recommend that you disinfect the wind tunnel again and again for your own protection. For these cases Flautisept has proven itself in these cases. Flautisept is available in our assortment.
