The instrument from the series MASTER with the model number: 469 from the workshop Paetzold by Kunath is a recorder, which is a lot of fun in the classroom as well as on stage.
This special feature is largely due to the carefully considered combination of the unique model with the timbres of the birch plywood used.

The material of this instrument is pleasantly captivating due to its special qualities. The peculiarities can be described roughly in this way: Overtone-rich.

The scale

The inner bore of the instrument is cylindrical and wider. This type of bore gives the recorder its typical sound.
In principle, instruments with a wider bore sound warmer, fuller, more fundamental and thus more ensembleable than models with a narrower bore.

What music styles can the flute be used for?

Birch plywood is particularly suitable for recorders that are used in folk music and as an introduction to recorder playing.

Who is the instrument intended for?

The above facts show that instruments made of birch plywood are particularly suitable for ambitious amateurs and advanced players. An additional rule of thumb to be observed is that a valuable instrument naturally makes interaction easier than a cheap one.

The Wind Tunnel of a Recorder

The wind tunnel is the area in the head of the recorder in which the blowing air is formed into a thin air blade. This air leaf is the central starting point of the sound production of the instrument. At the labium, the oscillation generating the flute tone is generated from the air leaf. The shape of the wind tunnel is thus one of the defining features for the range of artistic uses of the flute.

The instrument 469 by Paetzold by Kunath has a wind tunnel that is straight and conical.
Conically shaped wind tunnels accelerate the breathing air more than cylindrical ones.
Wind tunnels are of course extremely complex in their design and many parameters are influenced by each other.

Wise of grip

The recorder Paetzold by Kunath MASTER 469 is delivered in the following versions: Baroque fingering.

It is not always possible to drill the tone holes into the places in the body of the instrument that are comfortable and easy to grasp with one's hands. Especially with deep instruments some tone holes sit at positions which are not reachable for reasons of tuning. The instrument maker attaches key mechanisms to these instruments, which {simplify {gripping} them or make it possible in the first place.
The instrument 469 has the following keys: Paetzold full folding. This allows players with smaller hands to grasp the ball more than average. The shape of the flaps is unique and legally protected. Especially in the Asian region these models are often used in youth ensembles by well-known teachers for adolescent players.
But also adult players with small hands enjoy the advantages of Paetzold's full folding.

Construction of the body

The structural design with regard to the multi-part nature of an instrument fundamentally determines the way in which the recorder can be used in daily life, on the one hand, to ensure easy handling with regard to easy assembly and, on the other hand, to ensure safe transport.
This is a point not to be underestimated, especially when transporting larger (and sometimes several) instruments.
