The general overhaul includes minor repairs as well as specific adjustments such as optimising the response, sound and tuning. This includes cleaning and adjusting the windway and the block.
Other services include replacing cork or seals at the joints of the recorder, gluing and stabilising cracks in the wood to restore functionality.
Professional cleaning and a comprehensive hygiene check of the recorder - including thorough deep disinfection with UVC and ozone on request - are also part of the service.
The key mechanism is checked and optimised for ease of movement and tightness. If pads or springs need to be replaced or refitted, this work is carried out as part of the general overhaul.
