The diatonic scale consists of seven notes, arranged in five whole tone and two semitone steps. Beginning witht the eighth note, the sequence is repeated, but now simply an octave higher.
The most well known diatonic scales are: C-Major: C_D_E^F_G_A_B^(C) A-Minor: A_B^C_D_E^F_G_(A) _ = Whole Tone ^ = Semitone
