It is made out of pearwood.

The sound strip

What is the effect of the sound strip?
Recorders which are modified with sound strips are much quieter than normal recorders. This is a big advantage when playing in a group.
Where are the sound strips positioned? The sound strips are fixed in the windway of the mouthpiece using double-sided sticky tape ( in order to do this the block can be removed).
If required, the sound strips can be added or removed within 5 minutes.

What does the sound strip consist of?
The sound strip is cut out of foam rubber.

Can the sound strip be adjusted to my requirements?
Yes, using a sharp knife you cut it narrower and thus adjust the volume of the instument as you would like.

With which recorders can you use the sound strip?
The �80 series� Penta and soprano recorders produced by Kunath Instument Makers.
The Penta recorders are already fitted with sound strips in our workshops. The soprano recorders are usually not fitted with sound strips.
